Life has been tested time and time again, generations after generations and one thing is for sure, life without GOD is just existence but life with GOD is living the life you are called to life at the fullest. Involving Him is not a daily work or a one time work but a consistent lifelong experience work
Reply →Don’t confuse productivity with fruitfulness. You can work hard, wake early, sleep late, build systems, protect cities, chase success, and still miss the point.
Human effort, planning, building, security, and family life can become empty when God is not the foundation.
Psalm 127 hits different when you read it in light of Solomon’s reign. Verse 1 makes so much sense considering Israel’s season of peace and stability, where external conflict was minimal and the kingdom was flourishing. “Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain” frames it beautifully. Even in a well-ordered kingdom with structure and security, ultimate safety still isn’t self-sustained. 😄🔥
Reply →Solomon may have been the Bible’s first environmental enthusiast. 😁 Every citizen had their own vine and fig tree plus he was remarkably knowledgeable about nature. 🥹 If I could time travel into any moment in Scripture to live out the rest of my days, I’d definitely pick this era without hesitation. The Israelites were THRIVING! 😍💯🔥🌳🍇
Reply →Is it not ironic that Solomon writes about rescuing the oppressed in Ps 72:12 but he had people who were confined into forced labor during his reign……
Reply →Psalm 72 It reads as a prayer David composed for Solomon that we got to see realised and thoroughly lived out in 1 Kings 4.
Reply →1 Kings 4 [3] Jehoshaphat who served under David (2 Samuel 8:16) carried on his role as recorder. [4] This is the same Abiathar that Solomon exiled to Anathoth (1 Kings 2:26-27) I realised that Solomon couldn't strip him of his title as priest, but could ban him from serving in the the Temple. Thus Zadok was promoted to serve in his place as high priest. [20-28] This was a season of peace and prosperity. It was all made possible because of the amount of blood David spilled which weakened the neighbouring nations, rendering them ineffective for war.
Reply →I can do nothing apart or outside of God. Psalm 127 reminds me how futile my efforts will be without Him
Reply →I noticed also that prosperity of Solomon wasn’t just the vast wealth he had but rather the rest that came with it. Solomon was just chilling over here!😅
Reply →Solomon's wisdom wasn't just about giving wise answers. It had a real impact on the lives of the people. Because he led with wisdom, the people experienced peace, people were able to enjoy the work of their hands, and even other people came to learn from him. It made me think about the gifts God has given each of us. They're not just for our own success or recognition and they're meant to bless the people around us. Again, Heman the Ezrahite , the one who wrote Psalm 88 is mentioned in 1Kings 4 downwards( cnt remember but it’s at the latter end) . He was known to be wise. Now wisdom and faith don't make us immune to difficult seasons. A person can be deeply devoted to God and still wrestle with sorrow, disappointment, or unanswered questions. Solomon's wisdom is said to have surpassed even his. That made me appreciate just how extraordinary God's gift to Solomon was and reminded me that whatever gifts or abilities we have are acts of God's grace, not reasons to become proud.
