Psalm 127 hits different when you read it in light of Solomon’s reign. Verse 1 makes so much sense considering Israel’s season of peace and stability, where external conflict was minimal and the kingdom was flourishing. “Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain” frames it beautifully. Even in a well-ordered kingdom with structure and security, ultimate safety still isn’t self-sustained. 😄🔥
