Why will God dismiss David from building him a temple cos of his *profession* as a soldier when almost all the wars he went to were sanctioned by Him or better still He was the one granting him victory?
Reply →David gathered materials, made plans, organized priests, assigned musicians, stored gold and silver, and prepared Solomon. He didn’t get the headline role, but he made the headline possible.
David prepared the temple. Solomon built it.
The details in the historical record is really good and the intentionality in it. Also for me I think the last instructions of David to Solomon seems like the instructors of Moses to Joshua.
Reply →God, please help everyone in the body of Christ to perform their roles in bringing Thy Kingdom come on earth. Seeing all these arrangements encourages my trust in You.
Reply →David's commitment to preparing God’s temple is admirable. The fact that it’s Solomon that takes credit for building it. I have always thought Solomon built it all this while it was David’s plan.Although he would not build the temple himself, he carefully organized the people, resources, and leadership structures needed for the work to continue. His example teaches us that true leadership is not only about what we accomplish, but also about how well we prepare others to succeed after us. It reminds us that God's work is bigger than any one person, and that leaving a godly legacy often means investing in a future we may never personally see.
