Finally Amos 9 reminded me that God is not only the God of one group of nations but He is sovereign over all nations. The fact that Israel had a relationship with God doesn’t mean they should use it as an excuse to do wrong. Sometimes we may feel very superior because we are closer to people in authority but we should always be guided that God sees everything and will hold every one accountable.
It’s interesting how God remembers his covenant with David even after tearing them down. Lesson here is that, God’s character is balanced. He is holy enough to correct us and loving enough to restore us. When He tears down, He rebuilds it
Amos 8 reminds me of our African parents. They do not react immediately when u do wrong but wnt forget and punish u like how God punished Israelites at the right time. Being dishonest, exploiting others and profiting more than necessary are all issues still happening today. Nothing has changed
I think Amaziah was just jealous of Amos cos he was taking all the glory away from him.
Isaiah 6 🤧 Why are we sending a prophet if the people’s heart will be hardened to hear ?
How is Uzziah in his 52nd reign and his cousin’s have changed kings like a hundred times already and they are still doing awfully before the LORD?
Can we draw a parallel between Israel’s judgement in Amos 7-9 and what’s to come? Asking because we see the fulfillment of restoring the House of David as the King (Messiah) has come out of that line
