‘Love covers all wrong’. What exactly does that mean?

The more you talk, the more you are likely to sin. If you are wise, you will keep quiet. Proverbs 10:19

Proverbs 9 in summary is basically that popular saying people use as insults these days, “wisdom is chasing you but you are running faster”. The takeaway is that wisdom is so accessible. She (cuz Solomon personifies it) is actually calling out for people to come to her, even desperately. It paints the picture that foolishness is a choice cuz wisdom is just within reach if a person would just stretch their hand. I love how this inadvertently points back to God cuz when it says, “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of God how you get understanding”, you can literally see that it’s saying God is chasing you, God wants you so just come to him cuz not doing so is extremely foolish. The God of Proverbs is not a God playing hide-and-seek. He’s a God who keeps calling from the heights.

A standout piece of advice is not correcting mockers. There’s no need to try to prove anything to people who will always twist your words.

I love how in Chapter 8, Wisdom itself is speaking for itself like a person. I particularly love how wisdom tells us it’s been there before the foundations of the earth, right there with God. Folly speaks too and it made me wish they were actually people that humans could interact with. Maybe we’d make better decisions that way.

Reading through Proverbs 8, one can replace ‘Wisdom’ with ‘God’. He is all that and more🥰 I particularly love Proverbs 10:21: An admonition to be guarded with our words, to constantly speak life and not be rash.

Proverbs 9 [2-6] ... she has also set her table. "Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways, and live and walk in the way of insight." These verses, to me, gave the imagery of Holy Communion and the institution of The Last Supper. Mattew 26:26-28 Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is my body." And He took a cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. [7-9] Advises us to know our audience, so as to avoid unnecessary arguments and headaches. [17] "How can something so wrong feel so right?"😂😂

Proverbs 8 Wisdom is free for all; the layman, the simple-minded and those who practice foolishness James 1:5 ESV If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, Who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
