The phrase “right hand” in the Bible is often used as a symbol of power, authority, and favor. In the ancient world, the right hand represented strength, honor, and blessing. So when Scripture speaks of God’s “right hand,” it is usually pointing to His sovereign power and active rule. We see this in passages where God’s right hand is associated with creation, such as Psalm 8 and Isaiah 48, and in passages where it brings deliverance, victory, and protection, such as Psalm 16 and Exodus. It is not describing a literal physical hand, but using human language to help us understand the greatness of God’s power, authority, and blessing.
