I love how Solomon slowly starts coming to his senses in Proverbs. It feels like hindsight wisdom from a man piecing together the consequences of his choices. What’s interesting is how he uses women as metaphorical figures like the ‘adulterous woman’ (Pro 2:16-19) and ‘Lady Wisdom’ (Pro 1:20-23) to dramatize two contrasting ways of living. It creates this tension between impulse and discernment, where desire pulls you toward destruction and wisdom calls you toward order and clarity. The deeper lesson is how thin the line is between wisdom and foolishness, which is why discernment has to lead before emotions or desires do.
