Really love how David went to God about EVERY SINGLE THING! Even to get His thoughts on building Him a temple. He’s the poster boy for Mark 12:30 and I think that is MAJOR goals! That man was MADLY in love with God! “Man after God’s heart” was really apt! Psalm 60 here sounded like it could have been David’s diary entry when the Uzzah incident happened and he was away for 3 months. Sounds like this may have been his prayer to God.

David asked to build a house for God. God responded by securing David’s house, his lineage. David wanted to build a temple. God promised a dynasty. And that dynasty leads to Jesus, the Son of David. So David’s desire became the doorway for one of the biggest promises in Scripture: from David’s line would come a King whose throne would last forever.

I love how David kept exalting God at every opportunity. When Nathan brought him the prophecy over his future, his first reaction was exaltation and thanksgiving.

God establishing a covenant to establish an everlasting royal dynasty with the house of Dsvid is interesting.

He acted as a madman before a King, later became the body gaurd of said King. later defeated said King after becoming King. Nice. God, The Mighty Conqueror!
