Huram was to Solomon as Bezalel was to Moses. God gave a vision and always sent a craftsman to help bring it to life. I’m now wondering if this is a pattern.

I’m also noticing a very distinct pattern: God is very detailed and specific about His things. Even if it was your idea (the way it was David’s idea to build the temple in the first place), He is still extremely particular. I just noticed that He did in fact give David specifications 😅 (1 Chronicles 28:11-19) He won’t just leave you to freestyle. He’d be in every single detail. His will, His bill, His timing, His procedure, His EVERYTHING but what’s beautiful is that He still wants to partner with you.

I’m not exactly sure whether the detailed specifications of Solomon’s Temple were given directly by God in the same way He gave Moses precise instructions for the Tabernacle. Nonetheless, I love the intentionality that surrounded the building of God’s house. What stands out to me even more is that Solomon built the Temple before building his own palace. That order feels significant. Before establishing his own comfort, status, or legacy, he devoted years to building a dwelling place dedicated to the Lord. It’s hard not to think of Matthew 6:33: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…” Whether intentional or not, Solomon’s priorities in that moment reflected that principle. God’s house came first; his own came second. There’s something timeless in that. The things we value most are often revealed not by what we say, but by what we build first.
