Where do babies go when they die?

By Marvel Olagunju

(kindly read all Scriptures to understand and preferably in KJV)

God's Original Creation in Genesis 1 & 2 (background to the study):

1 Corinthians 15:56 and 1 Timothy 1:9-11 show how the law was made right, but in the beginning it was not so. When we say “in the beginning” in this write up, it doesn’t refer to Genesis as a book but to Genesis 1 & 2 because that was where God made things. The same is seen in John 1:1-3, and you can only see that in Genesis 1 & 2 which is God’s will and purpose. Creation was completed in Genesis 1 & 2. Whatever you cannot see in Genesis 1 & 2 cannot be seen as God’s perfect idea of things. We see His perfect idea of life, animal life, plant life, human life, growth, etc (theologically it is said to be for identification, purpose and function). So God finished His creation in Genesis 1 & 2 and after the fall in Genesis 3, time began.

The Fall and Its Consequences (Genesis 3):

James 1:13 speaks of what began in Genesis 3. In Genesis 3 we find the fall of Adam. James 1:14-17, now the word “Good” in Genesis for creation means perfect, as in saying you cannot improve upon it. If what God create is perfect then reading John 9:1-5, if someone was blind from birth, then it means someone made him blind. I understand the later part of saying maybe his parents had sinned, but how can a baby sinned then be born blind, it will mean that the baby was living somewhere before which cannot be because, life starts at conception and a baby in the womb cannot sin. Now He didn’t say his parents doesn't sin, but He also took away the reason for that man’s blindness from any man’s conduct. So Jesus inferred that what we are seeing is an absence of light, that is, darkness (read vs5).

In the beginning it was not so (Matthew 19:8):

Alot has changed in the earth since the beginning and many things like language, nations, kingdom, life, dominion of man over man, difference in race and many more is different from the life we first saw in eden, hence we have alot of in the beginning it was not so to point to. In the beginning we didn’t see rainfall, the earth had it's own irrigation system which is water from under the ground coming up to water the ground, remember this is why they didn't believe Noah when he spoke of the rain. Genesis 7 was the first mention, and in Genesis 8 we saw it rained. It came as a response to man’s sin and judgment, in Genesis 8:22, people think that God was blessing the earth but no, that was judgment upon the earth because when you see Genesis 1 & 2 you won’t see heat and rain etc. So rain, by the law of first mention, was judgment in response to mans sin which sustain effect of seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night (already created now reinforced), as mentioned in Genesis 8:22 on the earth. We see every herb as what men should eat, but now we eat flesh. So we see when people get sick, the same herb you couldn’t put in the pot to cook and eat are ground or cooked and mixed with stuffs and you take and you are well. Most of if not all of these medicine are taken from the earth at its source before made compounds. We see how sin entered the world Romans 5:12-14, so we see the consequences of Adam’s sin affecting creation in Romans 8:19-22, so creation was affected, Hebrews 1:10 shows us also verses 11-12, the earth now has experienced corruption based on sins of men yet that’s what God called perfect (cannot be improved on) in the beginning when he made it, however It doesn’t change the fact that the earth is the Lord’s (Psalm 24:1) still. Plants were not meant to die. Death wasn’t in God’s idea of creation, only reproduction, death was a consequence of man’s action for when sin has come to age it births death.

Where do babies come from?

John 9:1-5, if we say God doesn’t have a store of babies in heaven (no scripture can prove that theres a store in heaven of babies), or that boy didn’t come from God, so where do babies come from? Knowing fully well that the only one who comes from heaven is the Lord even Adam was off the earth 1 Corinthians 15:47, but everyone else comes through procreation, the law from Genesis is that all things produce after its kind, animals does the same, seed does the same, plants does the same, same thing applies to human, no babies come from God as in handmade by God, they were born according John1:13 which is of blood (DNA), of flesh (male and female rule) and of the will of man (seed), and that’s what determines the shape, hair, height colour etc. Adam wasn’t created in heaven but in the earth, so until the incarnation no one came from heaven. So babies are from the earth through procreation, Genesis 5:1-4 God set it to be like that. That’s why you see a boy will rape a boy and that will end up in a baby, its the rule of male and female, except you think God is trying to punish a woman who was raped by giving her a baby to keep remembering the rape. So it’s through a law and people who comply with that law get babies. So there’s incarnation which is only Jesus Isaiah 7:14, John 1:12-14, Isaiah 9:7, and there’s procreation a blessing in Adam. You know a person’s parent by blood test, so you see blood science, that is a rule in Genesis. Procreation is a real fact, hence there’s nobody that God created blind, or deformed, if anything there are other factors like your parent, child birth process, vaccine injury, the role of the devil and many other, we may look into that later.

Are Babies Born Sinners?

We have seen that God doesn’t have a hand in babies born blind or with any deformity at all, yet Romans 3:23 and Romans 5:12-14 is right. But let’s read things in context and the entire content of the Bible. Some popular verse and the thoughts, Psalm 51:5, he was praying to God, this wasn’t the Spirit of God speaking to God, so that cannot apply to all man, or did Jesus saying "my God why hath thou forsaken me" apply to you? of course not, God will never leave the believer. Now do you and David share the same mother? No, Especially if your mother is a Christian, you cannot say she conceived you in sin, you will be lying. This was a personal admission by a man who saw his conception as a sinful conception. Job 14:1, Psalm 58:3, so we have read twice on how David spoke about babies, does that show you that what David said cannot be a general rule? of course not, we see in one it was a personal admission, and in the other he was talking about the heart of wickedness which knows not the lord. Lets look at the alternates, inJeremiah 1:4- 5, if babies are born sinners then how can God do this? Let’s look at John the Baptist, a man who was born and God was at the back of that miraculously, and the Bible said he was full of the Holy Spirit from the womb, Luke 1:15. So we cannot fully assert that a baby is born a sinner just by applying one rule from David especially seeing other rule like we just read. Paul in Romans 7:9, so we cannot readily say that when a child is born he is born a sinner, emphasis on once without the law. Some people came together to conclude that sexual intercourse is a sin, but really is it horrible? or they are just out of touch because it was created by God, Genesis 2:24, 1 Corinthians 6:15-18 showing you sex is of God, Hebrews 13:4 saying the bed is honourable, so it can’t be sex that is sin. So again, are children born as sinners? Look at Romans 9:10-11, that again distorts the view that the child born is born as a sinner. Now, we have seen John the Baptist, Jacob and his brother, and also Jeremiah, so we cannot say babies are born sinners. It will then mean that David’s assumption is personal, lets keep it that way, we will refer back to this later. For example, I cannot say that “in iniquities did my mother conceive me” because no, she was born again then when she conceived me, knowing sex isn't a sin, and she was married. Even if we want to use literal translations, or say a pastor’s son whose both him and his wife were born again when they gave birth, so that child can’t say that in sin was she or he conceived except you want to defame your mum and dad. Let’s look at the statement of Jesus, Matthew 19:13-14, Matthew 18:10, so Jesus treated children differently. And when the Bible said death reigned from Adam to Moses, we gotta read that in context, because Romans 5:14 is where we got Hebrews 11 at least verse 1 to verse 12, where you will find by faith. Hence we must read “all sinned” in the context of what was being discussed, Genesis 15:6. So upon that parameter, we cannot classify humanity and not clarify without making some distinction. If we can remove Abel from Cain, Abraham from his father, and we can separate Noah from the folks who died in the flood, we can separate Lot from Sodom, then we can still make distinction from Adam to Moses. Again, what basis would we say a child will be a sinner? We said already that statement of David cannot stand, if we look at it in context and also out of context. John 9:1-4, when they asked did his parents sin, that’s an example of an unbeliever. Jesus’ answer was no, it wasn't the sin of neither the child nor the parents but this is darkness. Lets put some more into thought, Ezekiel 18:1-4 vs 19-20, so based on that we have reasons to make distinctions and not lump everyone together. Another scripture used is Exodus 20:5, now notice this, He said “of them that hate me” vs 6. Now the proper construction will be this: that “the children of idol worshippers, who yet worship idols, God will visit that iniquity.” (don't believe me, consult the original manuscript), So He’s not saying He will visit that sin on you, because we’ve seen in Scriptures of the children of those who didn’t believe while their fathers died, God preserved the children and said these children did not know anything, so they will enter the promised land. The question is children that follow the footsteps of their fathers. Jesus’ parable like I said gives us an idea, when He said “such is of the kingdom of heaven.”

God's Compassion, Justice, and the Fate of Children:

So what if a child dies, does it return to its mother’s womb like Nicodemus said? So are they also born righteous? So when the Bible said all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God, is He referring to men who had not done anything or men who had done something? Because sin has to be imputed as an "act", "deed", and "conduct", to say he or she has sinned. Putting that at the back of your mind, let us see.

A bit of Semantics here and there:

We cannot lay very strong, clear-cut foundation but like the Bible said that all Scripture is given for evidence, we can see evidence, just like Paul will do in his writings. We can see things, we know God’s mind towards certain issues and based on that we can place it in certain context. Now look at an example in 2 Samuel 12, the child conceived by Bathsheba (that child was the first one, not Solomon). Verses 19-20, when the child was sick you were not eating, when the child was dead you were now eating. Verse 22, this is David who knew about the redemptive plan of God. David was telling you he was going to see the child, he was going to where the child is or was at the time, same David that you said said all was conceived in sin o, now its either you believe David knew the child would be redeemed and he will meet the child knowing what David knew about God's redemption or you believe David went to hell if you believe the baby was born sinner. So he seemed to see respite in the fact that he will see the child again, and we know where David went to, which was the kingdom of God. Let’s look at another instance, Numbers 13-14. The background was that they believed the evil report and they couldn’t enter. Things happened and they wept all night, then God spoke to them, Numbers 14:26-29. Did you observe the numbers? 20 years old upward verses 30-31, but if you look at it, God gave a reason why those little ones will enter Numbers 14:31, 1:39, Hebrews 3:17-19, 4:1-2. It will mean that someone without the capacity to understand what was said cannot be said to not believe something. Based on that, 1 Corinthians 10:1-5, not that everybody didn’t weep o, everybody wept, complained, spoke things that were contrary to God’s will and purpose even the children did. The ones God was not pleased with were the ones who were overthrown, but those that God said could not discern between good and evil will not be judged like their fathers. So the lack of faith was reckoned to the fathers who could not discern between good and evil, and this is a prototype of salvation, a type and shadow of redemptive works. So someone who cannot discern good and evil nor have the knowledge of good and evil, does not know right from left, cannot reckon to his account unbelief. So the reason why those who entered entered was because of faith. You see God distinguishes children. Even though today we cannot say it’s 20 years down, creation has expanded, but there’s such an age that is respected in Scripture where someone can know right from wrong, and it’s on that basis that you can receive the gospel. We’ve seen evidence here that though the children had said something, the Bible recorded here that those children were not judged like their fathers, and don’t forget the sins of their fathers were not visited upon them. Let’s see another example, and we can apply this rule. Jonah 3, God sends His prophet to tell them in Nineveh that they have sinned and when he finally tells them they began to repent, and in verse 10 & Chapter 4:1-4.

Why are you unhappy that children are going to heaven?

So even today when we say these things about children who didn’t sin going to heaven some folks will not be happy, and some may fight and say Adam sinned so all sinned. But the question is, that Gospel of for “Adam sinned,” or all have sinned, who is it for? The children or the fathers? Is it good news? In fact more evidence points to the fact that the little children (not all children o), especially those that know right from wrong, little children go to heaven when they die. Little children that cannot discern both good and evil, God seems to create a principle of innocence the same way Adam was not righteous but was innocent. Now see this in Jonah 4:4-10, so you can have pity on a plant, your dog or even your phone when it falls? The question here again is compassion. Verse 11, look at the basis of preserving Nineveh? They cannot discern, that was the basis of compassion. So what basis do we have to talk about children? same basis of Compassion! They didn’t know their right from their left, they can’t choose, they weren’t even able to choose. Now let’s look at this rule of compassion closer, and look at children based on compassion, knowing fully well that compassion is justice. Let’s look at Abraham and God. When God would destroy Sodom, when he was negotiating with God, so you find out that there’s equity in compassion, there’s justice in it. It will not be justice to judge two people on different platforms. Can these children believe? No. Has that child been given a room to believe? No. Now let’s use this same principle in Nineveh. You know Nineveh had 120,000 persons and not all were children but these guys cannot discern their left from their right. So we can also look at mentally disabled people, those who cannot hear (not like hear alone because there is sign language), I mean those who you cannot communicate things to, mentally invalid. Let’s go back to the issue of children. In looking for Jesus, Herod decided to kill children from 2 years down, Matthew 2:16-18, this was taken from Jeremiah 31:15-17. So again we are seeing like an edge for children read vs17. So the innocence of children is a basis for justice to have compassion on them. And this would apply to those who have never heard the gospel?

Why people go to hell (leaving you with some questions):

There was no basis because from Genesis to Revelation, nobody was sent to hell because of his personal sins. People were judged based on the word of God, the truth they believed or refused. The sacrifice of Jesus, 1 John 2:2, John 3:16, God sent His Son to die for the world, Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:18. God will not bring anybody’s sins on them? Why? Because He has laid the iniquity of the whole world on Jesus. So those whose names or those who find themselves in hell on the judgment of sin are those who do not believe the gospel. Will that mean that everybody who has never heard the gospel before, who didn’t have a chance to say yes or no will go to heaven? Romans 2:11-16, this is something to ponder upon. However by Paul we can see some glimpse of light, that men’s conscience and heart will be put to test. Someone may say in that context but all have sinned? Yes, the all he spoke about is in the context of the chapter, but here the Bible begins to talk about the conscience of men’s heart, the secret of the heart. So those who have never heard the gospel cannot be said to go to hell, you cannot determine that, not on any basis. We have seen that justice has the rule of compassion. Christ has died for all men, all men including the worst of men. So someone telling lies will not be the basis for him going to hell because that’s not the basis for anybody going to heaven or hell. Only the blood of Christ alone is the basis for justification. Now, 1 Corinthians 3:13, “every man’s work” is talking about including Christians. Verse 14 tells us there is a reward for living by the word which is righteous living. Verse 15 the word fire there is judgment. It means even those who built nothing on his salvation but definitely he will be saved but there will be no reward. So works are not the basis of entering heaven because heaven is not a reward. 2 Corinthians 5:10, so some Christians will be in heaven and they have done bad things, Yes the blood saved them. So the basis for salvation is the blood of Jesus but there will be reward. Someone will now say “make I sha enter heaven,” but if the Bible say you will suffer loss, you will suffer loss o, real loss, consider again what the Bible called loss, before you choose to suffer it.

Distinctions and some thoughts:

Now again let’s see the case of Abraham’s bosom. Men went to hell but there’s a compartment for certain men to chill, another one burning. There was distinction, and those folks didn’t have the Holy Spirit within them, but they were not treated like the rest. Luke 16 explains this, so even before the Holy Spirit there was a provision for folks who aren’t saved as we are. So God always makes a provision in the basic tenet for justice and judgment on which we can look at children and those who have never heard the gospel. Because we know that Abraham didn’t have the Holy Ghost like we do today, he didn’t have eternal life on earth, born again on earth the way we are today. So let’s think a bit about the days of Noah. When the rain was prophesied, who would have believed that rain? Would you have believed that rain? There was no rain before, there was no evidence. You will see that in the bid for judgment in Scriptures there is a place for compassion, compassion here was the preaching of the gospel for all to hear for God will have been unjust for any to have died in that rain who didn't hear the speaking of Noah and we know God is not unjust.

Ask me again:

So if you ask me today that when children died where did they go to? I will say without a second breath that they will go to heaven, based on their knowledge of good and evil, the ability to reject or accept the message of salvation. And the same will apply for the invalids who can’t even use their minds. God in every time He communicates the truth about Jesus in some very almost foolish ways to us, He uses a lamb, an ark, a sheep, water. He uses things to communicate, and with every littlest of believing in that message, that man will be saved. Just like Jonah, we are astonished sometimes on why God is this merciful. Sometimes folks can be a bit unhappy. Imagine Jesus now appears to you tomorrow to tell you “do you know Mohammed is in heaven?” You may be unhappy, asking why? Did you not see what he did on earth? Look at that robber that was with Jesus on the cross. Imagine you are the one he robbed? And a couple of hours ago you were saying kill the guy, maybe because he even killed your house maid. But Jesus said you will be with me. You may be angry and say no wonder they are killing Jesus too, saying he’s a fellow thief like him. Turns out that someone like Hitler can be in heaven, maybe he called on Jesus before he died on a dying bed. If you can pity your car while someone hit it, how much more someone going to hell? Knowing fully well that God does not desire anyone going to hell.

What we have discussed and a bit of more questioned for you:

So let’s have a thought again about where do babies come from (from heaven, hell or space), and where do they go when they die? Do we even need them in heaven? Why do people go to hell (actions or nature)? And the role of the Book of Life in people going to heaven or hell. maybe we should look critically into the so called law of nature sin by birth and where it came from?

Thank you for reading!
