2 Chronicles 28:16-25 The actions of king Ahaz were that of a desperate man who was in way over his head and didn't trust in God. At times we tend to think that God takes too long to respond or act in our favour, then in our desperation we go around grasping at anything and everything we think might offer us some reprieve, not knowing that we are digging a deeper hole for ourselves.
Ahaz was one interesting character…he did all that in building an altar for God, yet in the same breath refused to serve the God he made the altar for. It goes to show that you really can’t serve two masters, you will be faithful to one and neglect the other. It seemed like he neglected God and served idols instead which eventually led to his ruin. His story also shows us that we sometimes don’t know the value of what we have and keep looking for solutions elsewhere. Cos tell me why he had the God of Israel that he could serve and could bring him victory instead he chose to serve idols. Hosea also tried tbh, I don’t even know if I can do what God instructed him to do. Man must have been through so much trauma with Goma cos it is really not easy loving someone and they keep going back to their foolishness, it must have been exhausting. Now that I think of it, is that not what God has been doing with me!!?!?!!! 😪🤦🏼. Anyways, overall I enjoyed the Bible read today as usual 🙏.
